What Is A Blog?
Are You New To The Blog World?

At the time of writing this post, blogs have been around for many, many years. But don’t be surprised to know that many people are still in the dark as to what a blog really is. Yes, you’d have to almost live on another planet not to know, but keep in mind… there was a time when the whole blog world was new to you, as well. So, please indulge me a bit here.

In general, a blog is a living piece of work written in the form of a journal where you can include your feelings and thoughts, and share your knowledge about a particular topic.

Usually, the information written on most blogs will always pertain to the topic of the blog. While blogs are very similar to websites, blogs have some features that websites don’t.

Blogs give many people a platform to voice their opinions on current events, past events, and for some, even family news. Many more use blogs with their businesses. They sell their products and services and use blogs to make their mark on the internet. The point here is that blogs can be used for business or pleasure!

In most blogs, you will find some of these main features:

1. Most blogs will publish their content in chronological order.

This works great because it allows the blogger to come back and continue his or her story. You can start today and continue your story tomorrow… and add more to it the next day and the next, which leads into point 2.

2.  You can regularly update your blog content on schedule.

This means that your blog is actually “living” on the internet. It’s active and being tended to and constantly fed by you… its owner. If you have a blog that holds your audiences attention, it can “live” on the net forever. And for extremely good blogs, as time changes, and new information becomes available about a topic, the blog will evolve in the same way.

3. You can interact with your readers through their comments.

Unlike typical websites, your blog visitors can actually add content by way of comments. They can add to, agree, disagree, enhance on any of your blog posts… that is… when you allow it. This is a good feature to have for many reasons, but for the most part, your readers get the opportunity to share their opinion about what you’ve written, which can encourage more visitors and interaction with your blog. Even when the comments are controversial, it can be a welcomed controversy because it keeps people clicking every day to get the latest.

I won’t attempt to give you every component of what blogging is all about and how they can be used. I’d have to write a book… but in essence, that’s another form of blogging… in sorts!

As you continue to visit this blog and gain more information on the topic, you’ll get a full understanding of exactly what you need to do to set up your own blog from scratch.

You’ll get access to a lot of information that people have paid a lot of money to receive. But my goal is to give it all to you in tiny, bite-sized pieces that will be easy for new bloggers to understand.

So, why not bookmark this blog so that coming back for me will be very easy for you to do.
