Thank You Steve Jobs!
A tribute to Steve Jobs for his amazing contributions to the computer world.
Apple published the following official statement about Steve Jobs on its website:
“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”
Since learning of the passing of Steve Jobs, many people have focused on how is death will impact Apple. Yes, this may be something for the techies to think about, but I’d like to take this opportunity to focus on all of the things we could learn from him.
Steve Jobs took an idea, a drive, vision… and used them to revolutionize multiple industries… namely, computers, phones, and music. and all of this birthed from a garage in his home. He literally took his ideas and capitalized on the second largest market in the world.
I hadn’t taken the time to listen to the commencement speech he made at Stanford in 2005 until someone placed on my Facebook page. Wow! What an inspiration.
Steve Jobs reminded me in his speech of the importance of loving what you do and the difference it would make in the outcome. His speech reminded me that it’s important to have a dream, and then follow it through until it becomes a reality. Even though he didn’t use these exact words, it’s what I came away with.
I hope that if you chose to watch the speech in this post by Steve Jobs, that you are reminded that it doesn’t matter where you start… but where you finish.
If you have a desire to use all of the elements that the internet has to offer to create a branding for your business that’s second to none, or a social circle through clubs and memberships, or a level of income that has no ceiling, don’t ever stop dreaming. And don’t ever stop taking the steps to carry them out.
It doesn’t matter whether you prefer a PC or a MAC, what can’t be denied is the fact that Steve Job was a man who understood the power of going for a dream and making it happen.
The passing of this technological giant was a huge loss not just Apple, but for the techie community at large. However, the legacy that Steve Jobs leaves behind will remain forever..
