The more the internet trends in the direction of social networking, the more important your personal brand becomes.
When you engage in Social Media, not only are you sharing information about yourself, but others are also sharing your videos and articles every day. And, you can’t really tell precisely who’s exposed to all your stuff.
When you think about developing your blog and making investments into your business, your personal brand is the most important one. You’ll investment money, time and energy, and it could be a while before you see a return on this investment.
But hang in there, as you get more proficient with your blogging, creating your personal brand will eventually pay off!
So what actually happens when you’re a blogger with a strong personal brand?
Depending on the goal of your blog, you’ll actually have people seeking you out for your services and you’ll find that your business world starts to create a flow that will happen automatically. Remember, this won’t happen over night, but it will happen.
With this in mind, you want to make sure that you’re creating a strong personal brand. So how do you do it?
1: Be sure that your personal brand is clear.
Before you can make your personal brand clear to the public, you need to be clear of what it is yourself.
What value are your blogs offering to your public?
Even though it may not always be possible, it would be great if whatever you’re offering has a uniqueness about it. It doesn’t have to be something that no one has done before, but if you can come up with something new, all the better. But it’s okay if you pick a great, popular niche and figure out how you’ll put your own twist on it with your unique personal brand.
What problems are you solving for people who need help?
Ideally, you want to find a specific need and fill it. I’ll use my blog as an example. My niche is making money online. I niched it down to making money online through blogging… and down even further with making money online through blogging – specifically for beginners.
Do you have a passion for something?
You’ll find creating your personal brand to be a lot easier when your blog is about something that you could talk about for hours without getting bored. There is such a thing as creating niche blogs just to make sales… much like mini-sites on a topic that’s popular. But your hub… your main attraction so to speak, should be about a topic that you just can’t get enough of.
2: How are you portraying the message of your personal brand?
It’s time to share you message with the world… so how will you do this?
For starters, make sure you’re extremely clear to your audience. Don’t leave them guessing or trying to figure out what your personal brand is or–what information they’ll get when they visit your blog.
Do this exercise. Write out one sentence that explains exactly what your personal brand is. It should include who you are and what you do. Here’s my example:
“I’m an internet marketer and I help people who want to make money online, learn how to do it using blogs.”
Keep your sentence short and to the point.
When people know exactly what you do, it’s easy for them to refer you to someone who might be looking for exactly what you have to offer. Making your sentence too long will cause your message to go right in one ear and out of the other.
So do you know what your persona brand is yet? If so, put it in everything and on everything you do. That means definitely on your blog, but also on your business cards, stationery, postcards, fliers, anything else you use for marketing your business.
Don’t forget to also include your personal brand in every article that you right, every video that you record… even in speeches, webinars, training calls and more.
To put it all in a nutshell, if you want to grow a strong personal brand, be sure that your vision for it is clear, refined and easy to share, then get your message out to the world through every possible opportunity.
Developing your strong personal brand isn’t difficult at all as long as you’re actually taking action steps to make it happen!
