How to get more blog visitors
Have you figures out how to get more blog visitors so you’ll have hundreds of unique readers checking out your blog every day?

It’s not easy but it can be done. Keep in mind… most blogs never even see a fraction of this number.

So, to make sure that you’re not just talking to yourself on your blog, I’d like to share some tips that will help you learn how to get more blog visitors on a regular basis.

Some of these tips are things you’ll do directly only your blog and others are for off-site tasks.

Let’s start with how to get more blog visitors using on-site tips.

Your Domain Name

It’s been my experience that using a domain name that includes my main keyword has gotten better results than just picking a name that sounds cute… or worse… not having a unique domain name at all.

Before you buy your domain name, think about what people would type into the search engines that are interested in your content. What’s the main phrase that comes to your mind when you think about your niche and what they might be looking for.

Having a good domain name is the first step to learning how to get more blog visitors.

Good Quality Content Will Help you Get more Blog Visitors

If you want to keep new visitors coming to your blog, be sure to produce valuable content that your readers would be interested in on a regular basis. The type of content you produce is not as important as the quality of your content. In other words, you could be entertaining, you could write on an “educational” level, or you could produce videos. Produce your content in a way that your readers will want to share it with their network.

Don’t make the mistake of taking the road of producing meaningless article after article. If you’re serious about learning how to get more blog visitors, you must understand that it’s better to have one good quality blog post that your readers are interested in than 5 that will never get read. So, find out what your niche wants to know about and give them exactly that.

Use Share Links and Buttons

You will get more blog visitors when you make it extremely easy for your visitors to share your content. Simply add visible, easy to use share buttons and links to your posts.

There are several networks you can tap into, but whichever networks you choose, be sure to include the most popular ones like Facebook and Twitter. These two sites alone will help you get more blog visitors than many others combined.

I’ve seen some blogs where the author has way too many buttons in their share list. Giving too many options sometimes leads to no results at all. “A confused mind does nothing.” So, be selective and use platforms that your audience would be most likely to use.

Try to Hold On to Your First-Time Visitors

If you want to retain your first time visitors, give them a way to subscribe to your blog. Many people may never make their way back to your blog unless they’ve used some sort of bookmarking or subscription, so don’t make it hard for them to subscribe.

And don’t rule out the fact that giving them an incentive will also increase your numbers. Offer some sort of gift in the form of an e-book, podcast, or recorded webinar. People are more willing to engage when there’s an immediate benefit for them.

Getting More Blog Visitors Through Off-site Methods

One thing you want to do when you’re just getting started in figuring out how to get more blog visitors, is to actively spread the word about your blog.

While writing good quality content is important and can’t be an option, it’s not necessarily all you’ll need to do to get more blog visitors.

Again… find out where your audience is and go there yourself. Be active in spreading the word about your blog. Go to social gatherings, meet-ups, and events where there are other people who could benefit from your knowledge.

The best way to get more blog visitors is to let those attending the events know that they can find solutions to some of their concerns if they visit your blog. When you’re in a live social envireonment, don’t be pushy or forceful. Join in discussions and indirectly share what you have.

Take Advantage of Other Successful Bloggers (In a good way)

I’ve mentioned this many times before and it bares repeating… comment on other popular, relevant, highly trafficked blogs.

Find good blogs to follow and try to be one of the first to comment on their post. But, make sure you’re only commenting on topics that are relevant to your niche or what you do.

Be a Guest Writer on Other Popular Blogs

A good way to get good back-links and more blog visitors is to be a guest blogger on very popular blogs that get good traffic. When you visit a blog that you like, check to see if they have a place for guest bloggers. If you don’t see it, don’t just assume they won’t allow guest posting. Find their contact information and get in touch. Simply ask them what their procedure for guest posting is. You may be surprised at how many will allow you to post to their blogs.

This is one of the top methods for learning how to get more blog visitors.

Next… Be Sure to Join Stumbleupon

This option can cause you to get some amazng spikes in traffic (when you’ve written really good content.)

When you join these networks, before sure to engage and recommend other articles that you’ve read. Also, feel free to connect with other users who ‘like’ content reletive to your niche.

Interact with the people here. Ping your contacts about your blog posts because this community may find your content interesting.

A little here and there will go a very long way. Drip on you newly found communities a day at a time.

So what does it really take to get more blog visitors every day?

The main points to remember… writing quality content is extremely important but it takes more. Promoting what you’ve written is equally as important as actually writing it.

I’ve been told that a good practice is to take the time you have available to blog and split it in half. One half is for providing good content, then other half is to promote that content.

This process of consistently opening up new avenues of people to expose your content to will eventually lead you to getting upwards of 500 visitors do your blog every day.
