Blogging for Money… What Do You Think?
When many people first start thinking about making money online, blogging is one of the main things that comes to mind.
Problem is… people get a little confused when they start to build blogs that they hope will bring in revenue, and when they want to start blogging for money. The main reason is because they often hear about how much money is being made with blogs, but they’re not sure what people are actually doing to make that money.
So here, I’d like to bring a little clarity.
Here are some of the main ways of how people choose blogging for money.
1. Blog Advertising:
Blog advertising is huge and comes in many forms. You can start blogging for money through Google adsense, adlinks, banner ads and so much more. What happens is that you advertise products and services on your blog. When people click on one of your ads, it takes them to a page where they can purchase a product or service, and you get paid a percentage of the sale. In certain instances, known as CPA (cost per action) you can even get paid when a person simply fills out a form or completes a survey. The amount you earn for these actions is very low, however, when you have enough people taking action, it can turn out to be extremely profitable.
2. Affiliate Marketing:
Affiliate marketing is one of my favorite ways of blogging for money. It’s very similar to blog advertising. You become an affiliate for a product that someone else has created. This can be anything from promoting information to selling cameras and computers. It can even be for services that someone else offers. Your blog would direct a potential customer to the sales-page of a particular product or service. If the lead chooses to make a purchase, that referral is linked to you and you earn a ‘referral fee’ when the sale is made.
3. Niche Marketing:
Niche marketing is another way of blogging for money that I absolutely love. Niche marketers can promote everything from blogs within one niche to 100 blogs in 100 different niches. You monetize the blog with information and ads. Whether it’s how to lose weight to how to train your dog, you can always find people within a specific niche who need help solving a problem or more information about it. You can design your blog around other people’s products within a particular niche, or… you can market your own products and service and keep all of the cash for yourself.
4. Network Marketing:
In the old days, mlms were built mostly through hotel meetings, home parties, the three-foot rule, making a list of 100 people and calling them all on a 3-way with your upline. While all of these methods still continue to work to this day, the internet has brought a whole new element of building a successful network marketing business. Using blogs to build a network marketing business has become an extremely popular way of blogging for money. There is a science to it, though. It takes a lot more than throwing up a few pages about your mlm company. Learning to build an mlm blog the right way is 1000 percent essential if you want to make this blogging method work, but it’s priceless when it does.
5. Coaching and Public Speaking
If you are an authority on a particular topic, you can create a blog that will allow your niche to recognize you as the “go-to” person. When people know for certain that you are the person who can actually teach them something, help them solve a problem or coach them through a process, they are willing to pay you for your help. People who are blogging for money in this way are sometimes referred to as celebrity bloggers. These bloggers can charge hundreds, even thousands of dollars per person for coaching, speaking engagements, presentations, and guest spots. If you actually are an authority in a particular niche, you must brand yourself online with your blog and make your assistance available to your niche market. You’d be amazed at how many people are desperate for the assistance you could offer.
This is certainly not the it and the all of blogging for money, but this should give you a better understanding of a few things that almost anyone can do to make money online with a blog.
IMPORTANT: Blogging for money is not a “get rich quick scheme”. It takes knowledge, training, and real action for it to actually work.
Be careful not to get sucked into buying every product that tells you that you can make a million dollars in 30 days with a blog. Making millions of dollars through a blog is not what generally happens for the ‘average’ blogger, especially if you’re brand new to blogging for money.
Those who do earn those huge amounts of cash are generally doing a major product launch of their own and often have tons of affiliates who are helping them with their sales.
But never sell yourself short. With hard work and dedication, you can certainly make a very hefty full-time income through blogging for money. People do it every day and all it takes is purpose, time, hard work, and dedication.
